Abstract
Observational studies of clinical workers in a hospital setting suggest that communication problems are a significant source of inefficiency. The need to reduce interruptions, improve contactability, and the sharing of informal information suggests that a mobile communication system capable of supporting asynchronous messaging, role-based contact, and communication policies would be beneficial. A prototype of such a system is described. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
