Abstract
A color reaction among chlorpromazine hydrochloride(CP.HCl), palladium(II) and o-hydroxyhydroquinonephthalein(Qn. Ph.) in the presence of sodium dodecylsulfate(SDS) -chloride ions was studied, and a simple and rapid spectrophotometric method for the determination of CP.HCl has been established. This proposed method could be used in the concentration range of 0 - 150μg/10ml of CP. HCl, where the apparent molar absorptivity was calculated to be 2.2×104 l mol-1cm-1 at 525nm, and was applied successfully to the determination of CP. HCl in pharmaceutical preparations. Keywords
