Abstract
Naturally OA[ochratoxin A]-contaminated feed was fed to 4 sows throughout 2 consecutive periods of gestation and lactation. Two sows were given 700 and 2 1400 .mu.g OA/kg feed, while 2 sows were on toxin-free diet. The creep feed contained 500 or 1000 .mu.g OA/kg. All sows and piglets appeared clinically normal. OA residues were not detected in the newborn pigs or the sow milk. The piglets showed normal performance up to weaning at 8 wk. OA was found in serum, kidney, liver and muscle. After 141 days on toxin free diet no residues of OA were found in serum or kidneys. The kidneys were macroscopically normal. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
