Abstract
Regge trajectories are calculated for the screened Coulomb potential with screening radii in the range 10-6-10-3 cm corresponding to an ionized hydrogen gas of temperature 5000 K and electron density 1011-1017 cm-3. The Regge trajectories are used to compute the density of states as a function of energy and the results suggest a simple parametric form for this function. The calculation also yields information on the upper bound to the principal quantum number and the start of the quasicontinuum.
