Abstract
A 45-GHz size-effect experiment on Ag revealed significant structure in the combined transmission and leakage signal below the first-belly-electron size effects. The oscillations, which behave differently for different field orientations, are shown to be due to the time-of-flight phase delay of electron trajectories across the sample. The signal is calculated assuming circular orbits and using parameters from the literature. We suggest a modified experiment for obtaining Fermi velocities. Keywords
