Abstract
We investigate the effects of the mean free path on the spin susceptibility of almost ferromagnetic metals. Using these results, we calculate the low-temperature specific-heat contribution of the spin fluctuations. While the term linear in temperature is unaffected by the mean free path, we find that the contribution is rapidly modified by impurities, in contrast to the phonon case.
