Abstract
In a series of three recent papers by Emin and Hart, it is claimed that the existence of Wannier-Stark ladders can be proved by splitting the electric-field potential into sawlike and steplike portions. It is shown in this Comment that the proofs in these three papers are incorrect.Keywords
