Abstract
"Findings from this investigation indicate that there is a very definite fear reaction in animals subjected to electroconvulsive shocks. Moreover, the resulting fear is of sufficient intensity to inhibit a strongly reinforced hunger-motivated level-pressing habit which had originally been learned in the environment in which the shocks were administered.
