Abstract

(-)-6.beta.,7.beta.-Dihydroxytropan-3.alpha.-yl 3-phenyllactate was identified as a minor component of the alkaloidal mixture of D. candida leaves. The structure was indicated by NMR and mass spectral analysis and confirmed by hydrolysis.
