Abstract
Sarcocystis infestation of monkeys discovered incidentally at autopsy is described. The cysts were found only in the myocardium and the skeletal muscles. The differences in the morphology of the younger and older forms of the parasite are noted. The pathogenicity of the parasites for the monkeys was negligible; inflammation was rare and when it occurred was in response to the damaged muscle tissue rather than to the parasite itself. Keywords
