Improved CDMA performance through multiple access noise rejection

Abstract
The authors propose receivers which take advantage of the colored noise environment in which a code division multiple access (CDMA) receiver typically operates, without locking and tracking any of the interfering users. The technique is not optimal, but it is very practical to implement and does not require any knowledge of the other users' spreading codes. The receiver is designed using a Gaussian approximation, but it is shown to yield a substantial improvement in probability of error, even for a system with a small number of users.Keywords
