Abstract
Mixtures of posterior pituitary hormones were fractionated by nitration through Sephadex gel columns. Several solvent systems and column materials are given for a successful separation of lysine vasopressin from α-MSH and of the latter from β-MSH. Oxytocin, partially purified by chromatography on carboxymethyl cellulose, can be obtained in a high state of purity by molecular sieving on dextran gels. The technique described is fast and simple and can be used with very small or very large quantities of material. Keywords
