Abstract
Pre-treatment with various synthetic corticosteriods only those with glucocorticoid activity) diminish histamine and 5-hydroxytryptamine in skin and jejunum of rats but increase that of the stomach. Histidine decarboxylase is diminished in these organs, but increased in the stomach. Stress by exposure to cold shows parallel effects. Amine levels of adrenalectomized rats are raised, but return to normal after corticoid treatment. Keywords
