Abstract
THE routine use of arteriography in the study of arterial insufficiency of the lower extremities has made a most significant contribution to the management of this problem. Today, we are in a position to state the exact level and extent of the obstruction, the degree of associated sclerosis, the quality of the "run-off" distal to the obstruction, the adequacy of the collateral circulation and which of the many surgical procedures available is best suited for the individual case.Lumbar sympathectomy has proved to be of value over the years in patients with a vasospastic component.
