Abstract
The equations of motion for the oscillation of a liquid drop pendent in another liquid have been derived. The predicted frequencies of oscillation for a number of systems having different physical properties (e.g. viscosity, density, drop radius, etc.) were found to be in good agreement with experiment. The equations have been extended in order that the energy dissipated against viscous forces during the damping of the oscillations may be calculated. Comparison of these energies with those available to produce the oscillations (as given in part I) shows fair agreement. This is considered as evidence in favour of mechanism of kicking given in part I.Keywords
