Inelastic Scattering of Negative Pions on C12 under Distorted Wave Impulse Approximation

Abstract
Inelastic scattering of negative pions on C12 is investigated in the distorted wave impulse approximation. Cross sections are calculated for excitations of 2+(4.43 MeV), 3-(9.64 MeV) and of complex levels around 15 MeV by pions with energies from 120 to 280 MeV, and are compared with experiments.
