Home Range of Small Mammals: A Reliable Estimate

Abstract
A method for estimating the probability of an animal being in a particular region of the home range is discussed. Data for Perognathus longimembris (Coues) were used to illustrate the use of this method and were transformed with r′ = (rλ − 1)/λ. One-sided tolerance limits were used to assert degrees of confidence γ that given percentages of the recaptures will be within specified distances from the estimated activity center.
