Abstract
Carbonate cementations can become significant design factors in design of deep ocean foundations. The writers have tested approximately 60 ft (18 m) of core obtained from water depths of about 9,800 ft (3,000 m) in the Labrador Basin. Test results presented herein support the contention that carbonate cementation plays an important role in the strengths of some deep ocean sediments and needs to be considered in design. Keywords
