Abstract
A daily dose of 100 [mu]g. of methyl dehydroandrosterone-triacetylglucuronate (containing 47.6 [mu]g. of dehydroandrosterone) per capon, for 4 days, dissolved in propylene glycol and smeared on the comb, was inactive. A daily dose of 20 [mu]g. of dehydro-androsterone-glucuronic acid (containing 12.4 [mu]g. of dehydroandrosterone) applied similarly for 4 days was also inactive; 77 [mu]g. (containing 47.7 ug. of dehydroandrosterone) gave an avg. comb growth after 5 days of 14%. A daily dose of 50 [mu]g. of methyl testosterone-triacetylglucuronate (containing 22 [mu]g. of testosterone), applied in the same way for 4 days, was inactive. 12 [mu]g. of methyl [alpha]-oestradiol-3-benzoate-17-triacetylglucuronate (containing 6.5 [mu]g. of [alpha]-oestradiol-3-benzoate) was inactive in castrated mice; 60 fig. (containing 32.6 [mu]g. of [alpha]-oestradiol-3-benzoate) produced oestrus when injected subcut. during 24 hr. in 3 lots of 20 [mu]g. each. 12 [mu]g. of [alpha]-oestradiol-17-glucuronie acid (containing 6.8 [mu]g. of [alpha]-oestradiol) was inactive; 60 [mu]g. (containing 34.3 [mu]g. of a-oestradiol), injected during 24 hr. in 3 lots of 20 [mu]g., produced oestrus. 30 [mu]g. of methyl oestrone-triacetylglucuronate (containing 13.8 [mu]g. of oestrone), injected subcut. in 24 hr. in 3 lots of 10 [mu]g., produced oestrus. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
