Nonbacterial Regional Lymphadenitis (Cat-Scratch Fever)

Abstract
NONBACTERIAL regional lymphadenitis, hereafter referred to by the more common designation, "cat-scratch fever," is diagnosed with increased frequency when intradermal test antigen is available. During the past year 7 patients believed to have the disease were admitted to the Memorial Hospital in Worcester. Six were treated by surgical removal of the focus of infection, and these cases form the basis of this report. To our knowledge, there is no report recommending definitive surgery in this disease, although surgery is performed for diagnosis or to drain abscesses.The clinical characteristics of cat-scratch fever have been described in detail,1 2 3 and are summarized . . .
