Abstract
This paper describes work done by Jacob Waterborg in the 90s demonstrating a connection between histone variants and modifications in plants. Now, over 13 years later, this work has been confirmed and extended to Drosophila by Henikoff and colleagues (Proc Natl Acad Sci USA 2004, 101:1525 [PMID:14732680]). They demonstrate that replacement histone variants are enriched on transcribed genes and are enriched with histone modifications...Keywords
