Abstract
The cited observations put an end to a discussion that lasted for a quarter of a century. Morphologically distinguishable sex chromosomes are absent in Reptilia, as is known to be the case also for the Anamnia; the females of Birds and the males of Mammals are heterogametic.Keywords
