Abstract
Despite its exceptional glamour and high scientific spirits, hematology has not generated an unusual number of hard-cover texts or treatises — that is, it has not done so until recently. Now, suddenly, after years of reliance on a very few good gray hematology books, students and physicians are relishing a feast of new works large and small. A cynic might wonder whether such loquacity is not traceable to publishers who desire sweepstakes entries.
