Physiological Effects of Labial Gland Secretion From Heloderma (Gila Monster) Upon Heloderma

Abstract
Seven adults injected in the buccal mucosa with labial gland secretion (6 with own secretion) exhibited no physiological effects, and no effects occurred subsequent to being bitten by other individuals. A principle toxic to Heloderma does not occur in the secretion of the labial gland of this species.
