Abstract
In a dense and cold recombining plasma the dielectronic satellites can provide significant asymmetry of the line profiles emitted by highly charged ions. Calculations carried out for 2s-3p and 2p-4d lines of the F VII spectrum and their satellite transitions 2snl-3pnl and 2pnl-4dnl of the F VI spectrum show that this effect may be responsible for the asymmetries reported in the literature. Keywords
