Abstract
Samples of alkali metal oxide-silica glasses with various kinds and amounts of alkaline earth oxide calcium oxide and silica were prepared, x-irradiated, and studied by spectrophotometry. Bleaching experiments with visible light were carried out. No effect of alkaline earth content upon the absorption spectra was detected. Keywords
