Chaotic properties of quantum many-body systems in the thermodynamic limit
Abstract
Recent rigorous studies have shown that a system of linearly coupled quantum oscillators becomes ergodic and mixing in the thermodynamic limit. These results support the conjecture that in the same limit quantum systems of many interacting particles can show true chaotic behavior. We provide further evidence for this possibility by analyzing the relationship of an exact theory to its time dependent mean field approximations and investigating the mean field behavior for an increasing number of particles.Keywords
