Abstract
The renal handling of [the antineoplastic drug] cis-diamminedichloroplatinum(II) (cisplatin) was investigated [in humans] by measuring the renal clearance of creatinine and free Pt. Free Pt clearance exceeded the glomerular filtration rate, indicating secretion of cisplatin or a metabolite. Accumulation of Pt within renal tubular cells may be related to its nephrotoxicity.
