Abstract
Anisotropic recoil of atoms excited by ionic impact, pointed out in the first article, modifies considerably the multiple scattering phenomena which affect the relaxation of resonance levels. In order to analyse our magnetic depolarization experiments carried out on the 3 1p level of HeI excited in a low pressure cell by Na+ or Li+ beams, we had to modify the existing theories and to solve the equations obtained. Despite the numerous approximations which had to be introduced in the calculation, we reached a theoretical result which is in satisfactory agreement with experimentKeywords
