The Subjective Warrant and Recruitment Into Physical Education

Abstract
The subjective warrants that people have for the profession of physical education are crucial for a complete understanding of recruitment into the profession and the effectiveness of professional education programs. Yet, there has been little attention to recruitment in physical education and no specific work done on the subjective warrant. When the research on occupational choice is reviewed and synthesized, a theoretical framework for the subjective warrant can be derived. The construction of this framework allows, in turn, the formation of testable hypotheses that operationalize the subjective warrant and invite the attention of researchers.
