Abstract

This paper describes the way in which a data bank of noise control case histories has been built up by the Occupational Hygiene and Safety Prevention Services in Tuscany, Italy. The data bank aims to become a source of information on noise control techniques for trade unions, factory inspectors and companies. The paper argues that such steps are essential for the effective control of noise in industry.
