Abstract
Thirteen species of plant-pathogenic bacteria, members of Agrobacterium, Corynebacterium, Erwinia, Pseudomonas and Xanthomonas, were preserved dry on silica gel held at -20.degree. C for 5 yr. Survivors were pathogenic. The method is simple, and the only major equipment required is a household freezer.
