Abstract
Gastric emptying and food intake in mice were reduced for a period of less than 24 hrs. after irradiation with 500 r. The inhibitory effect of hypertonic solns. on gastric evacuation was abolished by irradiation. The concn. of a Cr2O3 marker in the feces was reduced for a 2-day period. Irradiation had no effect on pancreatic and intestinal amylase contents in these expts. The amylase content of the pancreas decreased with age. Fecal output of total solids and of N was reduced for 48 hrs. after irradiation. Keywords
