Abstract
Fundamental principles of molecular chemistry, statistical mechanics, and plasma physics are used to derive theoretical output current and efficiency characteristics of vapor thermionic converters. The results are obtained in terms of basic physical parameters which describe the converter electrodes and interelectrode gas and are in good agreement with corresponding experimental measurements for a broad range of converter operating conditions. The analysis has practical applications for converter physics studies, converter performance evaluations, and thermionic power plant design. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
