Systematic study of largeCPviolations in decays of neutralb-flavored mesons

Abstract
CP-violation effects in partial-decay-rate asymmetries of Bd0 and Bs0 systems are examined within the framework of the Kobayashi-Maskawa model. We concentrate on those hadronic final states into which both B0 and B¯ 0 can decay. The rephasing-invariant formalism is used in our calculation. We find a quite large asymmetry (∼0.6) in some decay modes, such as Bd0D+ π, Bs0D+ π, D0φ, etc., but we still need 106107 bb¯ pairs for testing these effects for signature. In addition, the contribution of the penguin diagrams and the problem of strong-interaction phases of final states are also briefly discussed. We find that for testing CP violations with only the penguin contribution the best decays are Bd0→φKS, Bs0→φKS, which need, for signature, 3×108 bb¯ pairs.
