Abstract

Anionic aluminates or the type [Me_xAl(CH₂PMe₂)_{4 –x}]^– were synthesized and shown to co-ordinate to a Li⁺ ion; according to an X-ray structure determination [Me₂Al(CH₂PMe₂)₂Li(Me₂NCH₂CH₂NMe₂)] contains a six-membered Al(C–P)₂Li heterocycle.
