Abstract
N.m.r. measurements of T1 and T1ρ have been made on the three isomers of xylene over the temperature range from 10 K to their melting points. From these results the activation energies for methyl group rotation and rotation of the whole molecules have been derived. Solid m-xylene was found to exist in two forms, one of which is assumed to be crystalline and the other glassy. Keywords
