Abstract
Time-domain solutions to a detailed carrier injection model for multiple-quantum-well lasers under large signal current step injection is presented. The calculations yield a description of electron and hole carrier density distribution in space, time, and energy and also lead to the identification of a photon-assisted transport mechanism which may have a major impact on the dynamics of lasers with a large number of wells. Keywords
