The Relation of Site of Semen Deposit to Breeding Efficiency of Dairy Cattle

Abstract
Four sites of semen deposition were used as follows with the respective 60- to 90-day non-returns to first service given: (A) 2/3 of the semen deposited in body of uterus and 1/3 in cervix, 62.4%; (B) all semen deposited in cervix, 58.4%; (C) semen deposited in body of uterus, 64.8%; (D) half of semen deposited in each horn of uterus, 62.6%. Due to the wide variation in conception rate within treatments with respect to both inseminators and bulls, no practical significance can be attached to these differences.
