Abstract
By injection of Thorotrast (which by itself does not affect blood vessels) after histamine into the cannulated portal artery, it could be shown that 100 - 800 [mu]g of histamine causes narrowing of the hepatic vessels, whereas 2.5 to 60 [mu]g produced no effect in the rat. Serotnin has a similar effect in both guinea pigs (above 40 [mu]g) and rats (above 5 [mu]g/animal). Substance 48/80 also caused vascular contraction in both guinea pigs (above 400 [mu]g) and rats (above 100 [mu]g).Keywords
