Preparation of Antisera Specific for 6.6 S γ-Globulins, β2A-Globulins, γ1-Macroglobulins, and for Type I and II Common γ-Globulin Determinants

Abstract
Summary: Antisera reacting specifically with 6.6 S γ, β2A, or γ1M antigenic determinants or with type I or II common γ-globulin determinants were prepared on the basis of current understanding of the immunochemical structure of γ-globulin molecules. Purified γ-globulin components were necessary for the preparation and testing of specific antisera. Therefore, methods for preparing and characterizing 6.6 S γ-globulins, β2A-globulins, and γ1-macroglobulins from normal serum and myeloma proteins, γ-macroglobulins, and Bence Jones proteins from appropriate serum and urine are described.
