Abstract
A minority group, faced with expulsion from its old neighborhood by a Brookline, Massachusetts, urban renewal project, forced the inclusion of lower and middle income relocation housing in the redevelopment plan previously intended only for upper income families. A case study of the resulting project illustrates the problems inherent in combining diverse socioeconomic groups and also suggests some criteria for future socially mixed developments. Keywords
