Abstract
In mice of the "yellow" strain YBR/Wi, females outlived males irrespective of coat color. A high-fat diet significantly shortened the life span of these mice; yellow coated animals were more adversely affected than gray-coated individuals, and males more than females. A high-carbohydrate diet, although causing considerable overweight, exerted no injurious effect on the life span of these animals. Keywords
