$Λ π π$ Structure from 1600 to 1740 MeV

Abstract

Total cross sections for the processes

K^{-} p \to Λ π^{+} π^{-}

and

K^{-} n \to Λ π^{-} π^{0}

(pure

T = 1

) have been measured as a function of center-of-mass energy. From these the

Λ π π

T = 0

cross section was determined. The data indicate the existence of a

Λ π π

decay of the

Y_{0}^{*} (1690)

.
