Abstract
A total of 102 mice from 7 different inbred strains were vasectomized or sham vasectomized. Sera from these animals were collected before vasectomy and at 7 and 10 mo. after the operation. Indirect immunofluorescence on sperm smears showed that 26% of vasectomized mice had antibodies [Ab] to acrosomal antigens of spermatozoa. This response was restricted to 3 of 7 strains. None of the sera obtained from before vasectomy or from sham-vasectomized control mice contained similar Ab.
