Abstract
Describes a virtual reality system called "Collaborative CyberMirage", which makes it possible to share a photo-realistic virtual environment between multiple points. This system was developed to realize a virtual shopping environment, and although this system is expected to be used through the Internet in the near future, it is based on equipment and networks that are available now. This paper discusses the techniques required for virtual shopping, the structure of this system and the methods used to develop it. This system is a largely improved version of the former single-user CyberMirage. In both systems, the cyberspace is constructed by combining image-based data and geometric models to realize superior photo-reality.Keywords
