Abstract
The surface domain structure of a cube-textured 3% silicon-iron sheet was examined by the colloid technique. The patterns observed on most grains were typical of those previously reported on (100) surfaces in the single crystals, i.e. most grains contained two easy axes of magnetization in the surface, and usually one of these was parallel to the rolling direction of the sheet. A new band-structure pattern was found, and by comparison with similar patterns on a single crystal was thought to be associated with bulk strain in the material. Keywords
