Abstract
Lactiv dehydrogenase (LD) activity was determined in 43 samples of bovine semen from 23 bulls of the Aberdeen-Angus, Holstein-Friesian, Guernsey, Jersey and Milking Shorthorn breeds. The mean activity value expressed as Berger-Broida units/ml of bovine semen was 2,026 [plus or minus] 151 units. Correlation coefficient between LD units/ml of semen and 30-60 day nonreturn conception data was .414 (P< 0.01). Observations on 12 semen samples indicate that a considerable portion of LD activity is present in the seminal plasma. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
