Abstract
Experiments are in the form of a pilot study, because dose levels of prolactin (euteotropic hormone or LTH) had to be established and combinations of LTH and testosterone propionate (TP) relative to physiological conditions had to be checked. Various combinations of hypophysectomized, pituitary autografted, castrated and intact males were employed. LTH alone had no effect but in combination with subminimal TP it caused significant increase in seminal vesicle weight and epithelial height. A high priming dose of TP was required before LTH stimulated visible secretion. Prostates, testes, mammary glands, adrenals and pituitaries did not show any significant differences in structure or size when various levels of LTH were present. Keywords
