Abstract
A new ultra-violet band-system, E-X, of each of the molecules SiS, SiSe and SiTe has been observed in absorption at 800-1000° C., and vibrational analyses have been done. The D-X systems, already known in emission, have also been photographed in absorption. These observations have extended the D-X systems of SiSe and of SiTe and have led to somewhat improved values of the vibrational constants. The results are summarized in the following table: - Molecule State νe we xewe Yewe De SiS E 42322.1 402.3 -1.74 -0.025 1.2 eV.
